Are you ready to transform your passion for the land into a thriving regenerative project or enterprise?
Our intensive 10-weekend internship program, running January – May 2027, is designed for those who want to go beyond theory and truly master the practical skills of Syntropic Agroforestry and regenerative living. You'll learn on our farm and across various extreme Northland sites, gaining the hands-on experience and deep conceptual understanding needed to become a leader in climate-resilient agriculture.
This program is for you if you want to:
Hone Practical Skills: Develop mastery with a full range of tools—from machetes and pruning saws and portable mills —under expereinced guidance.
Deepen Your Knowledge: Dive into advanced concepts in soil health, water retention, plant propagation, food processing, and regenerative design, with a strong focus on observation and site-specific strategies.
Start Your Regenerative Enterprise: Whether it's a food forest, nursery, market garden, or consultancy/education business or community project, our program will give you the foundation and confidence to create lasting impact in Northland.
Curriculum & Certification
This year, we are thrilled to offer participants the opportunity to gain their Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) upon successful completion of the program. The curriculum has been expanded to include comprehensive permaculture content, covering:
Regenerative Living Principles: Ethics, design frameworks, and whole-systems thinking.
Integrated Enterprise Design: Creating resilient, diversified income streams from your land—from value-added products to education and consultancy.
Site Assessment & Planning: Reading landscapes, mapping zones and sectors, and developing professional consultancy skills.
Practical Modules: Soil building, water harvesting, animal systems, food forestry, natural building, and appropriate technology use.
The program exceeds the standard 72hour PDC curriculum requirements and ensures you graduate with both the certificate and the hands-on competence to implement your vision.
What You'll Receive:
A full tool kit (machete, pruning saw, secateurs, sickle, safety gear) to keep.
A diverse selection of plant material, cuttings, and seeds.
One-year subscriptions to our online learning community and SAPP, our design and learning tool.
Mentorship from experienced practitioners and international experts.
